HB2435 / SB 2767 passed yesterday. Now students taking a family life class will be forced to watch the disgusting, factually incorrect, animated "Meet Baby Olivia", a propaganda video produced by an anti-abortion group. There is no opt-out so apparently parental consent only applies to some things. I watched the video and found it disgusting, misleading and totally inappropriate as a teaching tool for reproductive health.
I want to thank our District 2 Senator Art Swann for voting no. But shame on District 8 Representative Moon for voting yes and District 20 Representative Richey who was one of the co-sponsors. So we know where we stand once again. This is not about protecting babies. This is about controlling women. It's yet another insult to women and the medical profession. Abortion is healthcare. Period. It's a tough decision that should be left to the pregnant person to make, not the government. Now they are trying to indoctrinate our children to believe otherwise.
